A new score for Nosferatu
Award-winning composer and sonic artist Ben Gaunt joins forces with silent film improvised scoring specialists Frame Ensemble to create a unique, atmospheric soundtrack for this horror classic mixing electronics with live improvisation.
Frame Ensemble is the UK’s only musical group specialising in improvised silent film scoring, and their live soundtracks capture the atmosphere of each film in unique, spontaneously created sound. Their Northern Silents performances include Metropolis, Strike, Au Bonheur des Dames, South, Pandora’s Box, and The Phantom Carriage.
Ben Gaunt has composed for the London Symphony Orchestra, Grimethorpe Colliery Band, London Sinfonietta, and many other professional ensembles, and his performances for Northern Silents include Frankenstein and The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari.
Nosferatu is at The Stoller Hall, Manchester on Friday October 31st and Pictureville Cinema at the National Science and Media Museum, Bradford, on Saturday November 1st.
